International "Master in Mechatronics"

The Faculty of Electrical and Information Engineering of the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz and the TU Liberec Faculty of Mechatronics established a joint course of study Mechatronics with master degree. Previous to this were of intensive co-operation, which can look back on a 30-year-old tradition with its practical training in the field of automation.

The course of study with master degree is planned for 3 semesters. Students matriculate for the summer semester. As Czech students attend a 6 semester bachelor course of study, another semester is added for them. The first semester is to take at the TU Liberec, the second semester at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz. The 3rd semester comprises the master thesis. The place of study depends on the topic of the thesis and the professor in charge and can be completed both in Zittau and Liberec. The student will receive a Dual Post Degree (Dual-Post-Degree-Program) as Master of Engineering.

Applicants for the study program Master Mechatronics will be registered at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz or at the TU Liberec. The “Master Study Program Guide - Mechatronics [PDF]” [PDF 5 MB] contains not only a description of the course of study and the content of the examination regulations, but also references about conditions and requirements concerning the study at the university locations Zittau and Liberec.

The course of study in English demands high standards from the students. Advantages for German students are the opportunity of a Dual Post Degree and the possibility of a PhD study in co-operation with the TU Liberec (without additional examinations). An advantage for Czech students is the opportunity of a course of study with a master degree at a German university in connection with a Dual Post Degree.
