New selection procedure for courses of studies with restricted admission

From the winter semester 2009/10, the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz, according to the Saxon University and College Act, will allocate 60% of the university places for the courses of studies with restricted admission with regard to a “suitability mark”, which is composed of the A levels mark modified by further criteria.

After the subtraction of the proportion in advance the remaining university places are allocated as follows:

  • 20% in accordance with average mark (best mark of A levels)

  • 20% in accordance with waiting period

  • 60% in accordance with a suitability mark, that is composed of the A levels mark and which can be improved with the fulfillment of criteria specific for the course of studies

Criteria specific for courses of studies are, e.g. for the course of studies “Health Care Management” a commercial or economic vocational qualification. In the course of studies “Industrial Engineering” marks 1 or 2 in physics will be taken into account as a bonus.
